What is accepted as a primary work?
For this challenge, a primary work is either a written fic or a podfic.

What is accepted as art?
Art can be traditional, digital, manips, icons, graphics, vids, fanmixes, audio art (podfic or other audio art), and anything else you might want to do as art. Have an idea for a kind of art not listed? Just ask us.

~Writing Requirements~

What type of requirements are there for a fic?
You will be expected to write a completed fic with a minimum of 5,000 words. You will need to get your fic beta'd.
Podfic must be a complete work with a minimum of 5,000 words. You will need to get your podfic beta'd.

What genres/warnings are allowed?
Any genre whether it be sci-fi, fantasy, or historical is allowed as long as it falls into the harlequin category.

Will my fic be archived anywhere?
No, where the story is posted will be up to the author. We do encourage authors to post their stories to Archive of Our Own. A collection will be set up there for the fanworks for this challenge.

~Artist Requirements~

What are the requirements for art?
This depends largely on what kind of art you are doing. For visual art, whether a single or multiple pieces (such as icons), it must add up to 500x500 pixels. Vids must be at least a minute long. Fanmixes must be at least 6 songs with 300x300 cover art. Other audio art must total at least 10 minutes. If your art does not fall into one of those catagories, speak with us and we will talk it over with you to come to an acceptable minimum.

~Schedule~

What kind of timeline will I be under?
2014/2015 schedule
8/13 - Sign ups end ***
8/20 - Sign ups extended to this date (authors only - artist sign ups will remain open through claims)
9/24 - Author check in
10/27 - Primary works drafts due
10/30 - Claims post goes up
11/2 - Claims
12/20 - Artist check in
1/31 - Final pieces due
2/14 - Posting starts

What should my artist's rough draft look like?
It should be the equivalent of about 80% of your final artwork. That's hard to measure, of course -- basically it does not need to be a finished piece, but it should be finished enough to give the author a good idea of what it will look like.

What should my author's rough draft look like?
It needs to be at least 80% of your fic written or 80% of your podfic recorded and in rough edits. You do not need to have your work finished by this time however, you may still work on it and get it beta'd until your final fic and art is due. We just need to be able to reasonably verify that you are going to be able to post on your assigned date.

What if I need an extension?
We will be granting extensions on a case-by-case basis for rough drafts as long as your final fic or art is in by the due date. We would hope, however, that you use the checkpoints and all your available creating and writing time to its fullest.

~Posting Requirements~

Who will be posting to the community?
That is to be decided among the artist and author team.

What types of requirements are there for me to post my art and fic?
A preview of the art (no larger than 400x400px) should be posted to the community, along with a summary and links to the full version of the fic and the accompanying art You can link back to your own LJ, DeviantArt, DW, IJ, etc. so long as your post remains unlocked.

Can I post it to my journal a few days early to show my friends?
No, the first time you post this must be on your reveal day. You can post it to the support community for feedback or show select friends for advice.

Where can I upload my art?
Outside of personal spaces, such as LJ, DeviantArt, DW, Tumblr, etc, there are several free resources such as Sendspace, or Mediafire that can be used for large files. Tinypic is recommended for images or .gif files, along with Photobucket and Imgur. You are welcome and encouraged to post to the AO3 collection as well, although art must be hosted elsewhere per AO3 restrictions.

How will I contact my artist/author?
We will provide both of you with contact information once match-ups are finalized. From there it is up to the artist and author  to communicate with each other to best complete the challenge.

Help! I can't contact my author/artist!
Tell us, and we will also try to contact your author/artist. If we are still not able to reach them in a week's time, except due to mitigating circumstances, they will be dropped and a pinch-hitter will be found for you. This is to ensure that no one reaches the final due date and finds their partner has left them hanging, and we are left scrambling for a pinch-hit. That said, if something does happen, please let us know, so we can take that into account and work with you. We want everyone to have fun with this.
